Duties* of Treasurer
Term = 2 years.
- Primary role includes being responsible for all aspects of IAPA’s finances including financial planning and budgeting
- Oversee and presenting budget /financial statement to the executive committee (EC) & Board of trustees (BOT)
- Advice IAPA on fundraising strategies
- Be responsible for the financial aspects of the annual conference. This has usually been done by contacting pharmaceutical companies for educational grants. Grant applications to different organizations should be sent out by December.
- Be available to the IAPA president to discuss issues and assist him/her on any urgent matter.
- Be available to the Executive Committee (EC) to discuss and work out urgent issues related to IAPA
- Responsible for answering emails/telephone calls related to IAPA
- Attend the annual IAPA meeting. On the conference day – present the financial statement to the attendees at the business meeting & help out the committee members with other aspects of the conference.
- Attend two face-face EC meetings (usually on a weekend both Saturday & Sunday) at the home of the IAPA president. These meetings are usually in August/September and March/April
- Attend monthly telephone meetings.
- May need to step-in and take over some of the duties of other EC members if they are unable to perform
