Duties* of Member-in-Training

Term** = 2 years.

  1. Serve as a representative for psychiatry residents and fellows of Indian origin
  2. Work with the members of the executive committee (EC) to get a better understanding of the needs of  psychiatry residents/fellows of Indian origin & facilitate meeting their needs
  3. Maximize recruitment of psychiatry residents/fellows  of Indian origin to the IAPA
  4. Be available to the IAPA president to discuss issues and assist him/her on any urgent matter.
  5. Be available to the  Executive Committee (EC) to discuss and work out urgent  issues related to IAPA
  6. Responsible for answering  emails/telephone calls related to IAPA
  7. Attend the annual  IAPA meetings
    Work with EC in organizing the annual conference & on the conference day be available to   help out  with registration,  ushering attendees, seating/food arrangements and anything else that may come up.
  8. Attend monthly telephone meetings.
  9.  Attend face to face meetings when invited by president or president-elect
  10. May need to step-in and take over some of the duties of  other EC members if they are unable to perform

* We have purposely kept many of the duties broad as we want the officer bearer to be creative & think outside the box!

These duties are also subject to change based on change in goals & needs of the IAPA.

** Can extend beyond 2 years if the EC approves & the member is willing.
