Duties* of Councilors

Term = 2 years.

Councilors are appointed by the president and hence answerable to the president. The main role is to assist the president in preparing and distributing the newsletter. In addition, councilors may have to step-in and take over some of the duties of other office bearers whenever the president requests.

Other duties include:

1. Work with the members of the executive committee (EC) in organizing the annual conference. Specifically, he/she should be available on the day of the conference and help out with registration, ushering, audio-visual arrangements etc.
2. Work with nominated early career psychiatrists (ECPs) in maximizing recruitment of other ECPs and defining the role of ECPs in IAPA
3. Work with Treasurer on strategies to improve IAPA finances
4. Responsible for answering  emails/telephone calls related to IAPA
5. Attend monthly telephone meetings and  face to face meetings when invited by the president.
